Review on Fujifilm X-E3 Mirrorless Digital Camera with XF18-55mm Lens Kit - Silver by Carlito Tardy

I miss IBIS and the full articulating screen terribly.

Excellent camera. I especially like the JPGs captured by the camera. I shoot in both JPG and RAW with every camera I own, but this is the first camera I've been completely happy with when posting OOC JPG images. The appearance of the rangefinder is pleasing. I looked at it in comparison to the XT-2. Looking back, I regret a bit that I didn't buy the XT-2. I chose this one because of the Bluetooth, the touchscreen, and other perceived improvements. So why do I regret it? A few things: 1) Another thing I don't like is the fixed LCD screen. I knew this was happening and consciously thought I could live with it because of the other "features" I was going to get. I'm used to the full articulating screen of other Olympus and Panasonic mirrorless cameras I've used. It got to the point where I never used the screen except for video, so I almost constantly turned it over and turned it into a body and only used the EVF. It also serves to protect the screen. That being said, I had to get a screen protector to avoid damaging it. At least with the XT-2 I would have at least some kind of tilt function. The X-E3's focus touchscreen is decent, but I don't use it enough to miss it if it weren't there. I was disappointed that Fuji didn't make a fully articulated screen on their X-H1. It's a huge chamber, and it seemed like there was room in it. but unfortunately no. 2) I would like an ISO disc. I use the front dial to set the ISO, but for the way I shoot I would prefer the ISO dial to be on top and the dial used for exposure compensation. But that's just me.3) I miss IBIS from my Olympus a lot. I didn't realize how HUGE the difference between photos and videos is. I might not have the sturdiest hands in the world, but handheld video footage on the Fuji X-E3 looks like a dizzying mess. I have to use a tripod to get any decent shots. I've never experienced that with my Olympus or even Panasonic. IBIS is huge and yes I understand the X-T2 doesn't have an IBIS either. Fuji is trying to catch up on this front with its new X-H1. Shame.4) The location of the Q and AF-L buttons next to the thumb grip. It's too easy to accidentally press them when holding the camera. Super annoying 5) The way Fuji has video recording in drive mode. At least give us the choice to change one of the buttons to record videos. Overall this is a good camera and I like the photos it produces compared to what I've gotten from my Micro 4/3 cameras so it was worth the switch. If the next Fuji camera after the X-H1 has IBIS and a fully articulated screen, they'll get me. If not, I'll keep filming and still have my Micro 4/3 gear that I haven't sold yet.
