It's comfortable and a bit bigger than another similar camp chair we have from another brand but doesn't seem to take up any extra space when folded. Seems sturdy and I like the small pockets (although if you put too much in, the chair can tip over when you get up). We use it for car camping, the beach etc so I don't know how it will be for hiking. I'm 125 pounds and my partner is about 170 pounds and it has worked for all of us. Just a tip for people with knee problems. Because these chairs are lower than a standard chair, your knees remain bent past a right angle (90º). If this is an issue for you, consider a taller chair. Overall I am happy with this purchase.
