I wanted to use this for a while before giving an honest review. The hex attachment is durable and well made. Build quality is QUALITY everywhere. Keep in mind that unlike its smaller siblings, this is just a demo tool and nothing more. It's 65 pounds. This is a great combo between pneumatic hammers and SDS Max. it needs to weigh more to keep the instrument from cracking. balanced weight and performance. They maxed out the lively output at 20 amps to squeeze every ounce of performance into the demo. Be careful, not all houses have 20 amp circuits so bring a small generator if the house only has 15 amp circuit breakers as you will trip the circuit breakers. A few examples from my experience. I dug foundations 12 inches wide and trenches 30 inches deep. . The clay was so compacted and dense that it was in no way inferior to the old concrete. We usually break up these passages with heavy pickaxes and sleds. A power trencher is not suitable because the supports are too close together and the walls may collapse when the trencher is moved. While the SDS Max hammer was good at breaking up dirt, it was slow and cumbersome. This tool was perfect, cutting through thick dirt like a champ. I would go 15 inches, move it back and keep going, this decreases lift height as 65 pounds can wear down your forearms if you do it all day. We change operators every 20 minutes. The perfect application. to 40 year old tracks. Not big enough for a pneumatic windrow, the pouring pressure of the concrete was about 2500 psi. This hammer smashed this track in under an hour, which again is a perfect application. Very impressive for a 20 amp tool. . In addition, the 5,000 psi area of freshly poured concrete was not graded properly and had to be removed, approximately 50 feet by 5 feet wide. Thickness 8-10 inches. We had NO pneumatic rolling stock so we released the Berserker Breaker and it found its equal. The tool breaks concrete slowly, but not without problems. The concrete is so hard that the hammer hits hard before it breaks, requiring you to control and apply the pressure, which puts a lot of strain on your arm and hand. Also, the power isn't enough to break through downwards, so you have to break through in two passes. In the end it can be done, but such work is somewhat out of reach of the tools. But if the area is small, then it is possible. I didn't expect overwhelming success with this application, I'm cautious, 20 amps is a limited power. But I wanted to try to feel the limitations of the tools. Is it a hit on an instrument? No way. Each tool has its own uses and limitations, you must use the right tool for the job. Otherwise, you'll blame the tool if it's actually misused. The storage case doesn't match the weight of the tool, the latches aren't strong enough, the wheels are for flat terrain only, but I could never take a star off for that. Since the value of the tool itself is so impressive, getting every case is a bonus in my opinion. If you want a Max Force demo tool that uses living power and don't want to overpay for the big names, this is the ticket. I highly recommend it. If the tool is too heavy, there are options like a trolley. It takes a little getting used to, but using it all day will leave your arms and shoulders feeling shattered, unless you're Arnold. The trolley significantly reduces the strain on the arms, arms and shoulders. Haven't tried it on a cart (a handcart-like holder designed specifically for these demo hammers) yet. Keep your bits sharp too, don't make it harder on yourself than necessary! We sharpen our bits after each use as it makes a world of difference. UPDATE: My phone was on hand to shoot the attached video. 4500 psi of concrete, all waste, got in the way of our trench. Some sections are 12 inches thick! We could call for a heavy duty pneumatic jack which would delay us 2 days. Although this type of thick and dense concrete is out of reach for the Berserker HEX for regular use or high volume jobs, we had it on a truck and went after it. Of course, it took 4 times longer than an air jack, but in 2 hours we removed the concrete waste and continued digging trenches. Trucks and runs at 20 amps, make sure you connect a 12g extension, here we are using 100ft. Notice how we worked close to the edges since the tool only has so much power. But the concrete is weakest at the edge. Moment. Time is money for contractors, so this tool can quickly pay for itself. Very impressed with this tool guru and I'm not easily impressed. I see this brand really gaining traction at Revain compared to the big names.
