Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ eRapta ER0202: Advanced Split Screen Backup Camera System with Monitor for RV Truck Trailer Tractor 5th Wheel - Rear and Side Wired Cameras, 4 Channels by Tyler Markham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The kit is complete for a Class A motorhome or camper van but not for a semi-trailer, fifth wheel or bumper.

Bought because right in the title it said it's a 5th wheel RV truck trailer tractor and the kit looks almost complete but is missing some essential parts for each trailer. Pros: 1.) Cameras are decent with good pictures, 2.) Video from monitor works well even in bright light on dash Class A (but not for semi-automatic), fifth wheel, bumper traction styles. Cons: 1.) According to the instructions, you had to run 4 video cables from your truck through the RV, trailer, and trailer. I had to find a company that would make a properly fitted quick coupler between the truck bumper and the trailer hitches. 2.) They use a 13 pin MIDI connector from the monitor to the split cable they have. It has currently been impossible to find a male to female extension for this unless I order from China and wait 20+ days. 3.) Do you need to run 4 trailer video cables from your truck cab through your RV? 4.) To get it right you need to add 2 more sets of cables to quickly disconnect and prevent multiple cables running from the cabin to the bumper. (NOT AVAILABLE FROM SELLER) So you add another $150.00 to the price and you got it right. 6.) Wire connectors are not truly waterproof and are exposed in RV, fifth wheel, and trailer applications. It is necessary to buy rubber boots (NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE SELLER). For a Class A motorhome, this is pretty complete. Bumper traction, semi-trailer.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Reliability
