I can't speak to this amp for professional users and I only have two pairs of open backed Sennheiser headphones to test it but I have of this one Amplifier heard from other reviews. These are the headphones it's aimed at. The sound through this amp is incredibly clear and can be either really great or very boring depending on your taste. Tested with the Sennheiser HD558 and 600 I can say that this amp is definitely overkill for 558s (50 ohms) but the sound is incredible and you can reduce the gain by 9 decibels if you use more sensitive headphones or headphones. . For 600s (300 ohms) this thing gives them run-in volume, and while there's no bass boost that I can get from the FiiO E10K, it obviously has significantly more power and the bass feels more defined and tight, although the hits aren't as aggressive and this is extremely important for critical-hearing headphones. The size of the amp itself is perfect, although I wish the power cord was a bit longer. You also can't plug in headphones and line speakers and have them on at the same time, not that most people would have many reasons for that, but I like it with my FiiO when I'm listening to something and want to show my roommate, I can just turn the volume up turn up my speakers and they start playing right away.
