Review on ๐ŸŒž Hempz Dark Maximizer Hypoallergenic Ounce: Enhance Your Tan Safely by Elizabeth Johnson

NOT hypoallergenic. AVOID if you have sensitive skin.

I applied the product to one side of my body to test my tanning results and instead developed a rash on the side of my body where I applied it. I know full well that this is caused by the product because it's the only thing I did differently. The urticaria is worse where I used it the most. The rash lasts more than 72 hours despite repeated bathing. I had to apply 2.5% hydrocortisone cream and take Benadryl to get it off and I have no idea how long the hives would have lasted if I hadn't. Be careful, as the label ("hypoallergenic"), color (white) and smell (fragrance-free) suggest it won't cause any skin problems. Oh, and there was no noticeable increase in tan. In the photo, my buttocks are covered with a beehive.

Pros
  • Same as all before
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
