So really cool and it works. First of all, I tried to experiment with the primer of the car. I wanted something relatively inexpensive (but with 4+ ratings) hence this product. I set up the compressor as instructed (relatively low = 70psi). Instead of the actual liquid film or other priming products, I used bar oil (like in chainsaw bar lube). The gun had no problem firing thick oil. I certainly can't speak of using this product with an actual foundation product. Shooting the rod with oil gave the desired results. I didn't dilute the oil, I just poured it into a bowl and sprayed it. The consistency (thicker stuff if you're unfamiliar) of the oil spread in a sort of "snotty" thicker way, but was sufficiently atomized to cover. For a mid-size SUV, I've used about two quarts of bar oil (about since I poured it out of a gallon jug).
