I have worn keyboard and mouse pads for many years. This is my 5th purchase and I will continue to buy them every time I wear a hole. Which brings me to this: Yes, you can wear holes in it. Depending on usage, this can take a long time, but it does happen. I use my computer for work, all day (8-12 hours), every day, 250+ days a year. I would consider my usage to be "excessive" and yet it holds up. I change mouse and keyboard stands about every 2-3 years. Not only are they durable, but they're fun too! When I'm in meetings, I often mess up the rest. I'm using a regular keyboard with the keyboard raised to the first notch. I don't use a curved keyboard. The height is perfect for my use. The only drawback is that the packaging has a very strong adhesive on the back. This adhesive does not come off easily and sometimes you will find that your tray sticks to your table.
