I really like the gel material on this coaster, but as for the shape of the others, I didn't think it made sense. The middle of the rest is widest, and then the width tapers on either side toward the ends, like a really flat "D". This gives a nice visual effect, but I don't think it's practical when I put the rest on the keyboard - maybe if my wrists should get smaller the farther I put my hands on the keyboard?
