I am writing this review for everyone who is hesitant to buy this laptop as I was one of them. I'm really confused between my personal favorite Alienware and the Razer Blade 14 Ryzen. I really like Razer peripherals - I use Blackwidow V2 TKL and Deathadder V2 Pro for my setup. The decision was based on several factors like Thunderbolt to USB C swap, no Ethernet port, external GPU for future upgrades. I will only answer these questions and hopefully it will help someone. First off, USB-C isn't much of a compromise as 3.1 Gen 2 supports 10Gbps, which is good enough for any type of connection - high-polling-rate gaming keyboards and mice, a 4K gaming monitor, and any docking station. I've read a lot of articles about games using a dock and honestly none of them support games unless it's an EGPU case used as a dock. You can still connect your gaming KB and mouse through a USB-C dock to fix the underlying issue. I used USB-C to DP to connect my Samsung C27HG7x 144Hz monitor and I can get the full refresh rate with no problem. An HDMI 2.1 port will of course also work. I have 2 monitors connected to my laptop (the second is an FHD Acer R240HY), a docking station connected via another USB-C port to connect a keyboard (for charging or for a wired connection), a Razer Goliathus Extended Gamepad (Chroma) and my Fifine microphone. I also used one of the 10Gb/s USB-A ports to wirelessly connect a KB and DA mouse (2.4GHz). I don't plan on carrying it around and essentially using it as a desktop replacement, so given the configuration above it's a pretty clean install. Just to add that with the RTX 3070 installed you will never need an EGPU case. soon. I've included the device names on purpose so you can look at the specs and make sure they're actually supported if you're looking for a similar setup. As for the laptop components themselves, the screen is great, the high refresh rate is amazing, the keyboard is pretty good too, although I use my mechanical KB most of the time. But I just have to mention the glass touchpad. I use MBP 13 for work and after this mouse pad I have never come across a windows laptop that matches the quality of the touchpad. But this time the Razer Blade has done it pretty well - it's just great. The haptics are excellent and the multi-finger gesture (I often scroll with two fingers) is impeccable. As for other components, there are many reviews, so I just wanted to mention one thing, which was my personal experience and I really liked it. To anyone looking to upgrade or buy a new gaming laptop that also looks premium and doesn't scream gaming - go for it!
