Review on Modern TRIXIE Cat Tree: Stylish and Functional Cat Tower and Playground by Brenda Mitchell

and to make it easier to look out the window

I bought this stand to replace the smaller cube bed and to make it easier to look out the window. Once settled, my kitty immediately jumped onto the tower, curled up and took a nap. On the other hand, he loves it and uses all three levels. On the other hand, it turned my otherwise active kitten into a couch potato who wouldn't get up from his throne except to use the litter box and eat. Pros: Delivery was on time, nicely packaged and safe and sound - no assembly required. The height is excellent, next to a standard window - not too high and not too low. The structure is strong enough for a 17 pound cat to jump on without tipping over. Although the surface area isn't as large as I was hoping, he definitely prefers a round bed over a cube as it's much easier for kitties to curl up. Cons: I chose this tower because it advertised a much larger surface area than my current one. Cube, as well as for extra height. Unfortunately, the surface is significantly smaller than the cube I previously ordered, and Kitty is having a hard time fitting onto the top level (not for lack of trying). Although he manages to slide himself into the bottom two tiers, he doesn't quite fit in and his cat parts are dangling. Overall this is a wonderful tower, beautifully built and looks great. It fits perfectly in a small space and is a great alternative to some of the tall tree towers that take up a lot of space. While the construction appears very good, it will be interesting to see if the retractable top holds up over time. This would be a five star rating if the measurements were accurate and as advertised. At the same time, a kitten of medium or small size would be perfectly comfortable. Having not seen a tower for big and tall kittens this is the next best thing and mine loves it!
