They are perfect for long hikes in national parks. My daughter loved that she could walk through mud and rain without getting her feet wet. My only issue is that Keanes keeps using utterly useless elastic laces! They only serve to prevent the child from putting these boots on (which is almost impossible if I help her). The solution is simple. We just cut the elastic and replace it with regular laces. Now they are perfect. Keep in mind that if you want to keep the elastic laces, you'll need to order a size or two bigger. If you change the laces, the boots will fit true to size.
