If you want fairly tight spiral curls, this Black Gold Ribbon Professional Styling Iron from HOT TOOLS is for you. and wondered if it would really work on my long, thick, wavy hair. As it turns out, my hair is perfect for this as it's a really long wand - which I really need for this type of hairstyling. how to properly use this thing because it's not entirely intuitive. It took me a while to get used to it, but once I got used to it, I felt better. You'll definitely want to use the supplied glove that comes with this set, but it's not reliable. Be sure to follow the instructions or you will burn yourself. It heats up quickly and is relatively light. Despite having a lot of very long hair, I can style all of my hair in a surprisingly short amount of time (compared to a regular old curling iron) as it doesn't take much time to curl each strand. Overall this is a great wand for tighter curls but MAKE SURE you read the instructions carefully and watch a few videos on using a curling wand like this to speed up the learning process. :) Great wand - love it!
