Not a runner so I can't tell you about this performance. My first Saucony was a Triumph 11 in 2013. I have not worn anything other than the Saucony since for the fit and comfort. I always wore the same size and D-width, which gave me extra width to accommodate the neuroma and spur. I think the reason for the drastic fit change is the soft, springy PowerRun material in the outsole; As a neutral shoe, this softness would have allowed for too much instability on the old platform. (If you've worn the Ride ISO 2, you'll know what I mean.) Soft cushioning also means a larger shoe size. Neither Freedom 3, nor Kinvara 11, nor this Triumph 17 suits me. The base of all three shoes is very narrow (the Freedom 3 feels like walking on a log underfoot) and the upper is made of super-stretch jersey to accommodate a wide foot. Who has a wide foot with a narrow sole? However. I don't mean to be too garrulous, but you have no idea what I went through trying to find my regular neutral Sauconys because of this new narrow platform, so I'm just passing along the info. I ended up returning this Triumph 17 a half size smaller and wider, which is something I've never needed in a shoe. The wide base is still not as wide as the original D width, but they fit me. Nice shoes with a reasonable stack height, not too high, it's like walking on clouds. I also ordered a second pair hoping they would still work for me in a month.
