Surprised I'm writing a review for a strap, but I'm really surprised at how much I love this ratchet strap. Strap technology has finally improved! Waistlines change and the hole system becomes obsolete as your actual height is between the holes in most cases. The ratcheting system makes it very easy to find the exact size for your comfort. For this reason and tighten faster. All you have to do is thread one end through the buckle until you get the fit you want and it locks into place when feeding. So you no longer have to stretch the strap to figure out which strap hole is best to use. Perhaps the Belt Tech 3.0 will automatically pull through all pant loops, making the task even easier. It would be cool. Seriously, I hate wearing belts and this belt kinda made me feel good. In terms of quality, I received a hexagonal patterned clasp and the shiny strip already has slight signs of wear. It's a belt, and belts always break, so don't be too surprised, to be honest. Shiny items tend to scratch fairly easily. So keep that in mind when considering abrasion when choosing a buckle type. The rest of the belt is like new so I don't regret my decision and I still love this buckle. In theory, since this belt has no holes, you don't need to worry about stretching, but only time will refute/confirm this theory. The quality of the leather looks and feels pretty decent, although definitely NOT premium. I'm curious how long the grooves on the back of the strap will hold up over time after constant use as they are the ones that lock the position in place. I'm also curious to see how the leverage holds up over time as that's probably the more likely point of failure. It's quite stiff in an uncomfortably way, so it can become too loose after prolonged use. Buy a larger belt than you think you need. It is easy to trim as there is a hatch on the back of the buckle that allows you to unclip the leather side that fits in there. So a nice haircut is not necessary. In no case do not cut the rounded side.
