Review on πŸ”Š Unbeatable Amplification: The Ultimate Portable Digital Reception Powerhouse by Brian Rivenbark

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best reception is now out of work!

So I cut the cable (Fios TV) a few years ago and it's been 4 years now. I bought one of these flat antennas back then. While this worked, I also had to move it around depending on the channel I wanted, although my address according to the FCC card allowed me to be in range for all my local channels (yes, I understand other things can take a hit). Whether I wanted to watch different channels or not, I had to shift things. This process was tiring for me, especially for my wife who wanted to watch some of the shows on the air and refused to fiddle with the antenna. So I contacted Revain to see if I could find a better model. What led me to this device. I see that there is a new trend in design and most of them have very similar characteristics in promised reception. So I tried this device. I've been using it for a few days now and immediately saw a huge improvement over my previous antenna and importantly they are both in the same location (inside, next to the ceiling next to the huge south facing bay window). So everything that is in this device can receive a signal much better. I have changed connection several times to see if I have no luck with a clear day and as soon as I connect an old antenna I lose 2 channels (fox and cw) and my CBS starts to flicker. This unit comes with a 36 foot cord that cannot be trimmed. So keep that in mind if you only need a few yards (you'll need to roll it up). This allowed me to route the cable much more neatly, to route my old antenna the same way I would have to add extension cords which some have reported will reduce the signal quality (I don't entirely agree, I know splitting the signal causes problems). The ability to watch crystal clear HD TV without having to reposition the device. I'm even thinking about maybe running the device offsite as I have a chunk of cable for it and might get more channels (but I have everything I want today so there's no rush). Well, finally, it comes with a basic set of items to assemble it (screws or double-sided sticky stuff, but I ended up using my stash of command hooks simply because I'm used to how they work. I highly recommend you To spend a little more on a quality antenna since you save a lot more by cutting the cable!Update note: For outdoor planners, I've found that I'll have to drill a much larger hole in the wall of my house for a non-removable amplifier .In order to hook this up I want (over 1". The good news is they have a version with this [B089NFLZSD] on it. I would recommend buying this model if you plan on hooking up outdoors or using coax cable to lay on the floors.

Pros
  • 320+ miles COVERAGE RANGE
Cons
  • Not bad but...
