do not squeeze the tofu

I wanted to like this little device but unfortunately it doesn't work that well. It came with some instructions saying not to over tighten the green screw. It must have said something to me. I've only used it twice and I don't feel like it presses down on the tofu enough. The second time I used it and drained it, I still had to wrap it in paper towels to remove more water. I would say he squeezed out about 60% of the water. Maybe the amount you want to push depends on the consumer. But with this press, you have no choice but to dump more water. Last time I used it I wanted it to be as tight as possible since it comes with a tofu press, but the green screw turned, the washer it was attached to didn't. I had to manually rotate the disk while turning the green screw. Even after sitting for 20 minutes it wasn't draining or pressing enough. Since the green screw is bent, I could take it apart and weld it to the disc, but I don't understand why they made a product that wasn't better, why aren't the green screw and disc more stable? If I can weld it on, why can't the manufacturer make a durable product instead of warning me not to overtighten it? I might take a strong vise and squeeze it tighter, which I might do next time. So the thing is, it's not going to be very tight. I figured placing the tofu between paper towels and putting a heavy object inside like soup cans would work better. Too bad because I paid $30 for these abs. I do not recommend this.
