It's big enough to cover our sofa or bed (we have a naughty cat that will pee where she shouldn't from time to time). I haven't tested it yet so far as the cat goes but I think it will work well. I have several other covers and they all have nonslip decorations on the underside to keep them from sliding around, this one does not but I'll tuck it in and hopefully it will stay in place.

My outdoor couch has really taken a beating in the hot Az summer sun. We have to purchase leather to stand up to the weather for this reason but it get SO HOT! The material seems thick enough to withhold minimal amount of pet traffic. I have an oversized couch/sectional whose design differs from a conventional couch, so it doesn't work with any typical covers. I used to put a bed sheet over it, but needless to say, that didn't look good, which is why I ordered this blanket type cover. I'm very happy with it, especially for only $28.
