My wife has been collecting snow globes since she was a child and I thought they would be a good Christmas present for her but. According to the description, they are made of glass and metal. , and so I assumed the base was some kind of blued metal. It looked very cheap when received and inspected and what I was hoping for a metal base turned out to be poorly coated plastic. The plastic had rough edges due to the molding process that the coating wouldn't adhere to, giving it a damaged/unfinished (cheap) appearance. It also seemed very heavy at the top as there wasn't much meat at the bottom to hold the glass bowl of water. I couldn't bring myself to give it to her because it just looked/felt sooooo cheap and sent it back.
