Review on πŸ”§ Obenauf's Leather Oil: Ultimate 16oz Restoration and Conditioning Solution for Dry Leather - Comes with Applicator by Roosevelt Weaver

Slightly easier to work with than Leather Honey

Revain seems to filter reviews until they are more positive, rejecting honest reviews and only accepting the mostly positive ones. It's mostly positive and got rejected once, but I decided to give it another try. I bought both Leather Honey and Obenauf's Leather Conditioner as I needed to catch up on all my leather goods. I wanted to try them on shoes, bags, briefcases and boots. Both did a good job of hydrating different skin types, and both darkened skin slightly, with some skin returning to its original shade and others remaining very dark (this was the case with Obenauf in particular). In any case, the main difference I've found is ease of use. Leather honey is thick, which makes it difficult to work with small spots and seams. Think thick honey, difficult to get out of a jar on a winter morning. However, this ultimately results in you using a lot less than on top. The top is like motor oil and drips from a handy applicator (which I like) when removed from the jar. It's easy to apply more than you intend, but rubs off easily, allowing you to soak up hard-to-reach areas and seams. When the skin dried with on top, I got a lot of white flakes, but it's very easy to dust them off. I emailed Obenauf's to ask about this and in a short time was told I had used too much product. No matter how little I've used, I still have this residue on shoes, bags, etc. So the seemingly irritated women at Obenauf are full of bologna. In the end, and despite my wish to dislike Obenauf's after a rude email exchange, I think I'd prefer Leather Honey. Given the price, ease of use, and relatively similar results, I have no other choice.
