First of all I ordered this soundbar for my bedroom TV. I didn't need a subwoofer. I bought a Vizio TV and figured there were no compatibility issues. and no. I am completely satisfied with this purchase. There are no problems and the sound is very good. I almost didn't order it based on some questions and answers and some 1 star reviews. Let me clear up some misinformation about this soundbar. At first, many people asked if the soundbar would work with their cable box remote. Even the seller said "No"! This is not entirely correct. My cable provider. Like most, it has a universal programmable remote control. You simply program your TV to the cable TV remote control. if you do. then the volume control for the soundbar is connected to your TV which is connected to the remote control via a cable box. So yes, if you have that option on your wired remote. It will control your volume. (Bass and treble boost must be done via the soundbar remote control). Second, there were many 1 star reviews stating the sound was no louder than the TV alone. There are only 2 reasons for this - 1) the soundbar is out of service or 2) and most likely it was not plugged in properly or simple user error. If you're using an optical connection, make sure your TV's sound is set to PCM. I can say that in my experience with this soundbar, on both the current TV and the one I replaced, the average listening level was 58-62. With this soundbar I have an average listening level of 18-22 to get the same volume. When you turn 58, the bedroom will be demolished. For comparison: the soundbar is more than twice as loud as the TV. I hope this helps some people decide. If you are looking for a simple 2.0 soundbar with great sound. That's it!
