I have had other humidifiers by my bed at night and this is the best. My old PerfectAire was too light - I used electrical tape to block out most of the light but couldn't get all of it out. And he was too small to last all night; woke me up with a flashing red light when it was dry. My previous Crane Drop was too big to fill or wash in the sink, and it made amazing gurgling noises that were loud enough to either make me laugh while falling asleep or wake me (and my husband). ) while sleeping. Also, I couldn't turn off or block the light. But this 0.5 gallon crane drop size is perfect! After YEARS of my humidifier getting in the way of sleep, I love this one. It meets all my requirements: it's dark, it has a direct mist outlet, it works all night, it's quiet, it's easy to fill and wash in the sink. I see technical improvements. It's quiet, almost silent, but maybe one night at night it makes a dull, low gurgle that doesn't bother me.
