Works well when you are within 30cm of the object you want to illuminate. There's a black light filter for the lens, which seems to muffle the amount of light that's given off. It is definitely 365nm UV, good quality body and button. I bought to check for fluorescent stones (Uperlites) and it doesn't work for my application. I walk beaches and have to hold a flashlight at waist level to see the rocks. With this flashlight, you must be within a foot of rocks for them to glow. I'll look for a more powerful lamp at a great price, maybe one with a 365nm LED instead of a filter. I have UV Beast 2 and it works fine for what I do, but it makes the rocks glow a pinkish orange because its LEDs are 395nm. 365nm makes them glow with fire like orange, I just need to find one I can walk around and see from afar without breaking the bank.
