I was having trouble with pumping because the regular plastic flanges were pulling too much tissue into them (due to elastic nipples) and causing bruising and tearing. I tried these to see if the cushioning might provide some friction to prevent the breast from getting pulled into the flange. Unfortunately, the cushioning did not help with this issue. Additionally, I didn’t feel that the cushioning was noticeably more comfortable than the regular plastic flanges.On a side note, the only product that ended up helping for my issue with elastic nipples getting damaged was the LacTeck silicone flanges- the difference is that they are somewhat tapered and thus prevent the tissue from getting sucked all the way in.
