Update: the screen died today. The touch still worked, but the image didn't appear. Luckily I still had my original cracked screen which I had back on my phone. Well this is the worst experience I have ever had. It's been 5 months and the screen is dead. $100 wasted. Original: I have replaced 11 screens for family and friends over the past 4 years. This is the second worst replacement screen I've seen, after the iPhone SE screen, which has half the brightness and resolution of the OEM screen. Installation Issues: 1. The included 0.6mm Y-tip screwdriver did not work with the screws inside the phone. I looked at the tip under a microscope and the tip was so deformed that it didn't sit in the tips of the screws at all. I had to order another Y tip screwdriver which worked great. They eliminated the need to disassemble the metal plate on the back of the standard screen and reassemble it on the new screen. This wasn't a problem for me as it's similar to other iPhone models I've worked on, but it can be confusing for newbies. Performance Issues: 1. Colors are slightly off. Whites are slightly greenish. It's very slight, but noticeable to my eye. However, I do video color grading for work, so I can notice it more than the average user. 2. Usable viewing angle is smaller than OEM screen. Colors and contrast change noticeably unless you look directly at the screen.3. The touch doesn't work that well. I usually have to touch the screen multiple times to wake the phone. Sometimes touching the phone doesn't wake it up and I have to press the side button.4. The side bevel is sharper than the original. I liked the side curve of the glass on the regular screen. The edge of this screen is sharper. They compensated for this by increasing the plastic portion of the bevel. This is a small problem but still annoying.5. The screen exhibits phantom touches that occur when plugged into a charger or charging wirelessly. If you're not using your phone while it's charging it's not a problem, but when you're using your phone it behaves strangely, like quickly tapping random spots on the screen. When texting, it's text random stuff. He recruits people himself. It behaved erratically when surfing the web. Positives: 1. Brightness and resolution appear to be on par with the original screen.2. They contained glue to protect the phone from water and dust. Verdict: This screen replacement kit is not lacking in tools and instructions. You may need to get replacement tools that actually work, and either fix the instruction gaps yourself or find a YouTube video that walks you through. If you end up replacing it, you're left with a screen that doesn't look as good as the original, doesn't respond as well to touch and, according to other reviewers, falls apart and no longer works together. I'm used to paying around $30 for replacement screens that work surprisingly well, give you quality tools and full instructions on how to get the job done. This 4 times more expensive kit does not live up to expectations. I do not recommend this screen to anyone until these screen quality, tool quality, and instruction quality issues are resolved.
