Comes disassembled but is incredibly easy to put together. I did it myself in fifteen minutes. All hardware and tools (hex key) included. Very durable, although I put a cinder block on the lowest level because my (big) cat likes to jump on another scratching post. My cat immediately climbed onto the highest perch and is still there 30 minutes later. The scratching post is quite high; nearly six feet. The Penthouse Rest is small but large enough for a large cat to curl up comfortably. I hope that this will solve the feline skirmishes over territory in the apartment. The box it came in got rave reviews from my other cat.
