Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Skechers Men's Flex Advantage Black Shoes for Men – Optimal Footwear by David Fisher

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Reliable black work shoes at a reasonable price.

I work in the loss prevention department of a retail store and my uniform requires "all black" work shoes. Since my retailer rarely carries this type of shoe, I had to look elsewhere. An added complication is that I have plantar fasciitis so I needed my Powerstep Pinnacle orthotic insoles to fit in the shoe which requires the purchase of a WIDE shoe. I first tried different shoe stores before giving up because many don't have large sizes. I found Skechers in the same mall where I first found this shoe. It came in WIDE, was comfortable and had the all black look I needed. The only downside was that there are some orthopedic "grandfather" shoes in the WIDE style, IMHO. Memory foam certainly helps, but I don't feel that way since using orthotics in my shoes. I bought two pairs and used them in my damage prevention work 5 days a week for 7-8 hours a day, alternating two pairs to give everyone a chance to air out. They lasted 8 to 8.5 months and then I could say the depreciation is just awful. It was even visible that the sole was worn, but the rest of the shoe looked perfect. To clarify, the cushioning was so gonzo that my feet ached when standing on concrete floors with thin carpet covering them. As a result, I found them for sale at Revain and immediately ordered them to replace my worn ones. I also bought a pair of Skechers "Men's Work Relaxed Fit: Telfin - Sanphet SR" shoes, which I will also be talking about here on Revain, where I bought them. For reference, my job is to stand or walk in one place for a long time. Stock looking for shoplifters. Occasionally, these shoes end up on the sidewalk from the outside, but that's less common in today's retail era. I have run in them and they are not suitable for running unless you are under 18. They feel a bit stiff and not soft enough to run for anything more than fast and short runs. But they're not running shoes either, so what can we expect? Overall these are pretty good work shoes and they go well with safety uniforms. If you pay well below the Skecher manufacturer's list price you get good value for your money in my opinion.
