Faucet works again!

Glad this kit is available from Revain! I didn't have to buy a new faucet! It was the right set for our faucet. Before ordering, it is important to compare your old parts with the photos of the new parts. It's also important to note that your left and right cartridges are not the same. The two holes in the metal part below are in different places. When you remove the first cartridge from the tap, compare it to the new cartridge below. Connect the top two pieces (old and new) in equal positions so that they fit together, then see if the two holes on the bottom ends of the old and new match up. If not, look at another cartridge. Install the new spring after removing the old one. The spring has a wide end and a narrower end. The wide end goes down and the narrow end enters the rubber part. (Check this when you remove the old spring. Make sure its wide end is down.) This is actually the only way to put it in without damaging the rubber part. The narrow end fits easily into the rubber part. After installing the spring, put the rubber piece on the spring. It's a bit tricky to put the rubber piece on the new spring and fit it all the way into the hole it goes with in the valve seat. You have both parts correct if you press lightly on the rubber part. I used a stick the size of the small hole in the rubber piece to hold it in line with the spring while gently pushing the edges into the hole in the faucet seat. My old cartridges had brass barrels, but they should work in normal 1/4 turn off-to-on operation. Brass would increase the cost. Happy to find a good faucet repair kit for less than $10! I'm glad the faucet is off again and working properly. Hooray!
