Well suited to small, calm breeds, not large, energetic breeds.
This is not ideal if you have a large or energetic dog. It took 3 months for the door panel to break clean. The hard plastic that the door valve is made of is not strong enough to withstand a lab in and out all day for over 3 months. Would not recommend for people with such energetic dogs. This was my second purchase of this door. My first lasted several years with smaller breeds and less energy. The first one broke 2 days after I had my lab puppy. I figured it was just sunburned and damaged and needed replacing anyway. Now I know he just isn't strong enough for a big, energetic pup.
