Since the integrated charge controller has indicator lights, an LED on a 12 volt plug is redundant and uses electricity. The device comes with a blocking diode, which is good, but the LED on the plug is non-blocking and draws power 24/7, making daily clean charging very slow. I disassembled the connector and cut out the LED. This way I can leave the charger on all the time overnight with little loss. A magnetic strip would be nice to attach to the vehicle. Looks well built and bulletproof. Slow charging, dead batteries, I don't think there will be any recharging problems. Revised: Further research shows that a reverse SAE connector is often used as reverse polarity SAE adapters are commonly available. It turned out that the panel and the accessories included in the kit are reverse polarity according to the SAE standard. This means, for example, that when you attach the battery clips to a car battery you run the risk of the open SAE contact, now positive, grounding some part of the car.
