Review on πŸ”Œ Camco 55195 30ft PowerGrip Heavy-Duty Outdoor 50-Amp RV Extension Cord - Extended Reach for Distant Power Outlets, Long-lasting & Reliable by Charles Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for expanding an EV charger (or other load) up to 40A continuous

Measured: 30' 3" long. 21 pounds 1.05" in diameter. After plugging in, checked the voltage at the outlet and was within 99.9% of the measured output voltage. Started with a 10 amp load for 20 minutes (an increase of 5 amps every 20 minutes), up to a 34 amp load with no noticeable (manual) temperature rise, either on the cable itself or at the ends of the connector.(The load cables were the only part of the system that I used a temperature change and it was constantly plugged into an outlet or power strip) an outlet next to the electrical box where it is easily accessible for use with my electric vehicle charger (although it is NOT the most desirable recommendation for electrician use). it keeps the cable off the ground, well supported and with little risk of damage. This works great for centralized access to vehicles for charging.Considered m Given the calculated allowable loads for this configuration (6 AWG copper, less than 60 feet, including EV charger, power strip, and distance between outlet and fuse box), a continuous load of 40 amps at 240V seems easy to handle for simple use move to be sufficient. You need an outlet that's farther away than you currently have, and you want (or need) an option that's well under what the electrician charges to route it. This seems like a good option if you understand that it is NOT recommended for permanent use. .

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
