Poor sound quality and user experience

I decided to waste and buy these after my Beats X broke. I paid over $90 for it so my expectations were high. I was very disappointed. First, the sound quality was inferior to the standard Apple headphones that come with every iPhone (I've been using them while waiting for the Jaybirds to arrive). When you turn the volume up, Jaybirds beeps when it hits the max volume and it beeps when you hit the lowest setting, which annoyed me because I often use the highest setting. The manual that came with it was also completely inadequate. Just to understand the basics, I had to do a lot of research online and find the best user manual on the company's website. I couldn't get the headphones remote to change songs - the instructions said to press a certain button for three seconds and I tried several times to no avail. This would be VERY uncomfortable when doing cardio at the gym. Second, the headphones looked cheap. The headphones themselves are made of hard plastic and protrude very clearly from my ears. Style is definitely not the main thing here. When unpacking, there were also black spots on the white cord. Even after downloading the Jaybird app and experimenting with the settings, I couldn't get my favorite songs to sound the way they normally do. Everything was distorted. I'm not an audiophile, but I think it's reasonable to expect expensive headphones to be several steps above the sound of cheap Apple headphones. Also, the earbuds don't have magnets on the ends of the earbuds to connect. The left and right pieces are like a necklace when not in your ears. Because of these things, I didn't bother trying the headphones further (I was dying to use them at the gym, but not after unboxing them). I repackaged them and sent them back to Revane. I'm really disappointed because I thought I'd found the perfect Beats X alternative (which died on me after 6 months of use). I don't recommend them to anyone.
