Review on Alessi Anna G Corkscrew Black by Matt Ellis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Updated today, .Update, . This corkscrew has been used for almost 5 months. He deserves 5 stars. That's great !

I got one of these as a gift about 12 years ago. It went out of service about 2 years ago. Since then I have had at least 6-7 different wine extractors. None of them lasted from several weeks to several months. I was willing to spend a few euros to get something of decent quality. There is no such happiness. It lacks good quality corkscrews at a reasonable price ($12-$40 for me). I had a hard time finding this, even on AMZN. I had to google "Wine Lady" before I found it. I was a little suspicious based on some reviews that suggested the newer versions aren't as high quality. My 4 star rating is based on the obvious build quality and the fact that I haven't used it yet! It seems great and just like the one I wore when I pulled out a million corks. I hope to upgrade it to 5 stars after using it for a month.

Pros
  • Alessandro Mendini designed the bottle opener in 1994 after his friend and fellow designer Anna Ghily.
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared.
