Good all round fitness watch at great price

update: on a hiking trail after an hour of walking they showed dismal results, they reported 23 steps! Eventually I realized that my walking stick was preventing her from catching my hand movement. At the end of the day, after running about 6 miles, she reported "not enough data to save". I'm so disappointed I downgraded it from 5 stars to 3. The default language on this smartwatch is Chinese, but it is automatically adopted. the language of the mobile phone to which it is connected. So the very first step in using this watch is to install the phone software. The software works well, but the setup is a bit confusing. When adding a new clock to the Android app, a page will appear saying "Search for clocks". You have to click on "Search Watch" before actually starting the search. Once I figured that out, it easily found my watch, connected to it, and the language on the watch magically switched to English. The watch's touchscreen works well, from the home screen you can swipe up, down, left or right to access various functions and settings. However, there is no tap or double-tap detection. One feature of this watch that I really like is the variety of watch faces to choose from. The faces also display different dates. Also, it's pretty easy to change watch faces with the watch interface you're used to. (The watch has a small selection of these watch faces available in the Android app). This watch uses the smartphone for most adjustments and settings. It also stores historical clock records, making it easy to keep track of. In addition, it tracks fitness goals, such as: total steps per day, etc. Finally, using an app on a mobile phone to make most changes tends to be easier than using a watch simply because the interface is larger. A small issue is that the clock defaults to km/kg instead of pounds/miles, but this is easy to change in the Android app. Actual measurements appear to be accurate. I checked my own heart rate (and then the assistant did) and compared it to the clock and we all agreed within a few beats per minute. The distance traveled also seems to be correct. We've had terrible weather (and I love hiking when the weather is nice) so I haven't hiked yet. But for short walks it's ok. It has exercise functions that you can 'start' like walking, it even counts down briefly and then says 'go'. I wish it could store maps and show my location along the way, but they don't have GPS and there's no way to download a map. The watch has music controls (or applications) that control the music on the phone, but it needs to be set up and the hell if I can figure it out. The battery life is very good, as long as the small screen is not turned on too often, the battery lasts several days between charges. You can take them on a multi-day hike without worrying too much about battery life. There are many other settings as well. I gave the watch 5 stars for its affordable price, beautiful dials and variety, and accuracy. For a budget sports watch, this is a good choice.
