Bought these primarily for salting turkeys for smoking but will use them for any type of salting/salting product that uses liquid brine/salting. I have used three bags so far. once with two 9 pound turkeys in one, then twice after that with a 10 pound bird in brine. I've used them in a bucket and once I just used them in a "naked bag" in the fridge. The bucket makes it easy to get the turkey out without pouring the solid contents of the brine (fruit, onions, etc.) down the drain, but the bags are strong enough to use on their own as long as there are no solids in the brine . Will definitely refill when I get to a bag. Simple and effective! Oh, and the turkeys turned out absolutely wonderful! According to the family the best thing I've ever done.
