Good price - no leakage

Worked great. Marinated 4 turkeys and a ham. Turkeys ranged from 11-16 pounds. No leaks. I wasn't gentle with the bags and moved them around a few times. The best part is that I have extra pockets for next time. Very important

Super strong! - Container Sets

Definitely recommend using the insert when salting the turkey - these bags worked great and were very strong. We had a bit of a hard time getting the turkey out of the bucket as it was a bit swollen from the brine and was holding this bag as we tugged and tugged at the 23lb bird!

  • Hands Free

These bags are amazing!

Bought these turkey breast pouches for Thanksgiving. Anyone who has ever inserted a breast knows that there are sharp rib bones that can easily poke through a thin pouch. These bags stood on my sharp chest :-). I highly recommend them and will be using them for future adventures.

Perfect! For storing dog food in 5 gallon Ikea Variera bins

I was looking for a lining insert to store dog food in Ikea Variera bins. Containers are perfect for organizing Ikea kitchen cabinets. But they are not suitable for eating. These grocery bags fit perfectly in the Ikea Variera 5 gallon bins with lots of bags. I just dip the entire replacement sheet to the bottom of the trash can.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Problem

Bought these primarily for salting turkeys for smoking but will use them for any type of salting/salting product that uses liquid brine/salting. I have used three bags so far. once with two 9 pound turkeys in one, then twice after that with a 10 pound bird in brine. I've used them in a bucket and once I just used them in a "naked bag" in the fridge. The bucket makes it easy to get the turkey out without pouring the solid contents of the brine (fruit, onions, etc.) down the drain, but the bagsโ€ฆ

Great for salting large cuts of meat

I love to salt and smoke meats - corned beef, pastrami, pork belly (for homemade bacon) etc etc. I used to use large plastic containers for this purpose which take but take up a lot of fridge space and are bulky. None of the tubs I've found have a super positive lid that is airtight. It sucks because you want to turn/shake the meat in the brine quite a bit. Instead, I can make my seasoned brine in one of these bags, toss in the meat, let out all the air, and leave just enough room to tie a nice

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Sad package

They are GREAT for making homemade brine ham

I used them to make my first homemade brine ham which was GREAT! Better than ham from the supermarket. It was so easy to do. Grab a FRESH pork shank, shank, or even Boston leg (shoulder roasted). I say fresh because freezing changes the cell walls so the brine doesn't soak into the meat either. In a large saucepan, add 1/2 cup kosher or canned salt, 2 cups brown sugar, 8 teaspoons #1 pink salt (NOT Himalayan salt), and 1 tablespoon salt seasoning to 1 gallon water and heat fully to releaseโ€ฆ
