Poor quality control
One of the medium sized canisters has a serious manufacturing defect. The edge of the container part was deformed to such an extent that the lid did not touch on one side. Sealing not possible. Even the most superficial inspection would reveal the problem. I have attached 2 photos. One looks through the gap and the other stands next to a properly shaped canister for comparison. For the kitchen where I needed it, it's totally useless. It was nice. I think I'll put it in the basement. Maybe he can keep nuts and bolts in the workshop.
