The first thing I did when the lights arrived was to make sure they were fully charged. I then tested each one to ensure all three lights worked as advertised. There were no problems. I bought these because I have a trash can in my garage and when I want to throw something in the trash, I open the garage door, reach over the railing and throw the item in the trash. . I can't see the trash can in the dark, so sometimes I miss the trash can or get caught on the edge of the trash can and bottles, cans, or paper items fall onto the garage floor. I usually turn on the lights in the garage, but the switch turns on four overhead lights with two four foot fluorescent bulbs in each bulb. I thought these lamps would be a good alternative. I have a steel shelf next to the trash can and I attached a magnetic strip to the lamp. I use a magnet to attach the light to the shelves and it works great. I open the garage door, the light comes on and I can see the trash can clearly. You no longer have to turn on eight 4-foot light bulbs. Also, by using a magnet, I can take a flashlight with me when I'm working in the garage and need a flashlight. I also installed one of the lamps in the stairwell leading to my basement. More than enough brightness for my applications.
