Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Connectivity with TetherPro Male Mini B Feet Orange by Mark Cannon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The first sample was defective and didn't work with my Nikon D750, the replacement seems to work perfectly!

I bought this cable to use with my Nikon D750 DSLR. Finding cables long enough for tethered recording can be difficult, especially those that use the 8-pin USB mini-B connector such as the B. Many Nikon DSLRs. The Nikon cable included with the D750 is only a few inches long, which isn't long enough for wired shooting when you need versatility when your camera and computer are only a few feet apart. When I first bought this cable (from Tether Tools themselves here on Revain) the one I received didn't work at all with my Nikon D750. No matter how many computers and USB ports I tried, Windows just kept saying "USB device not recognized". After a bit of a disappointment I sent my first one back and ordered a replacement, this time from Revain Calumet. I was very pleased to see that the cable I ordered from Calumet worked and worked flawlessly with my Nikon D750. . It works great with Nikon Camera Control Pro v2.23 and hasn't had any issues so far. However, this cable is overpriced considering it is just a USB 2.0 mini-B cable. But sadly, there really aren't any other options that also come in 15 feet in length. Monoprice's 6-foot 8-pin USB2.0 Mini-B cables cost less than $5, so the fact that they're less than three times the length but almost eight times the price is absurd. These cables shouldn't cost more than $20, but alas, what can you do when 6 feet isn't enough room to connect to a laptop or desktop.

Pros
  • Coated connectors for stable and reliable cable
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.
