BEAUTIFUL BUT DURABLE

UPDATE: This wallet has a broken clasp for just over a year of use. When I contacted the seller and asked for a new shutter to *install* myself, they said it was out of warranty. They suggested I go to a local shop to have this unique clasp replaced. I found this wallet to be good quality and hoped it would last me much longer. It's otherwise in great shape but is now missing a button on the clasp making it impossible to fasten. Knowing 20/20 with hindsight I would not buy this wallet or use this Amazon seller again. I reduced two stars to 3/5 for a year plus good use; but his life was cut short and the company stopped supporting his product after a year. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a really high quality hand rubbed leather. The color and style (inside and out) is exactly like the picture and just gorgeous. It's slightly larger than my last envelope/clutch wallet. The lining is made of ripstop nylon, smooth and durable. The pockets are comfortable: not so tight that it's uncomfortable to use, but not so loose that cards fall out. The "transparent" ID slot is actually covered with a plastic mesh, not clear vinyl. It hides the ID so you have to take it out to reveal it, but the mesh allows it to slide on instead of sticking like vinyl. If you fill this wallet up you'll have a little trouble closing the clasp, but it should be easier if you break it a little. The clasp feels solid and is actually screwed on either side of the leather. It would have been ideal if it had RFID blocking, but I got the RFID inserts here at Revain and cut them to size - voila! Fits EITHER an iPhone 8 without a case OR a checkbook without a case, but leaves less room for cards and cash may not close if too full.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are bugs
