Our Heeler Mestizo had ACL surgery on his right hind paw and was very uncomfortable in a vet issued plastic cone which he had to wear for 2 weeks. The poor guy couldn't turn around in his box and kept bumping into things! I debated buying him another, hopefully more comfortable cone, but the negative reviews scared me. I wanted him to be more comfortable, but I didn't want to risk him getting at his stitches and tearing them off. After a second night of sleeplessness and after looking at at least 10 different cone options at Revain, I placed an order at 3am. And it was such a good decision for us! PROS: Clear windows, the flexibility of the cone, the fact that it attaches to the dog's collar, how light it is, how secure it is (our dog definitely can't reach past his hind legs with this thing). CONS: We would have preferred the windows to align to the left, right, and under his chin, but because the Velcro is heavier, the windows align over his head rather than under his chin. never mind We hope we never need it again, but we're glad we have it in our closet. For the record, our 24 pound dog (about the size of a Cocker Spaniel) fits perfectly in the medium sized environment and could have been bigger and still fit in.
