Review on Sony SSCSE Dolby Atmos Enabled Speakers - Black (Pair) | Dolby Atmos Compatible Speakers by Greg Stevenson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This could be great depending on your setup

Update: I changed the settings on my receiver (Yamaha rxv683) and changed the default sound settings from "Front Presence Speakers" to "Atmos Enabled Speakers" in ascending position above the main fronts and increased the volume of the Atmos speakers dB to + 2dB louder than their respective front speakers after using Yamaha Ypao's automatic speaker calibration microphone and now they have very good, full-bodied home theater sound. You should download the Dolby Atmos demos from the Dolby website and play them for calibration. You should hear the pen twirl around you and slightly above your right side. The Atmos speakers work in concert with the rest of the speakers so you don't want the Atmos speakers to be too loud or you'll hear too much sound coming from the front and drown out the other speakers and ruin the illusion of sound. Bladder. It should be loud enough, but balanced with other speakers so the sound moves evenly through the room to suit your ears. The difference is that you feel like you are in a sound bubble with objects that can be tracked in space using sounds. It's subtle in a way, but not subtle. It feels like I'm in the middle of a movie. This is how it should sound when tuned correctly. Without atmosphere, you only get peripheral sound effects, as if you get an idea of the transition of objects in space from front to back, left to right, but there is no depth in the details of the sound arrangement. Now, with the atmosphere and the right setup, I get that depth. This is highly dependent on your settings and situation. Everyone will have different experiences with atmos and some adjustments may be needed to get the most out of it. First Review: Bought on sale for less than 100. This is a great addition to my 5.1 setup, now it's 5.1.2. In general, I hear a subtle difference in that it also slightly increases the soundstage compared to traditional surround sound, making it more enveloping from above. Definitely not very noticeable, but important to me. It won't surprise you that you can now suddenly make out where an object is flying overhead, you probably won't get that by just letting it sit on your front tower speakers. I wish I could say they did, but they didn't, but they do what they're supposed to do which is increase the soundstage as a smaller replacement for in-ceiling speakers at a reasonable price and with no hassle. I mostly use this with Atmos enabled movies. I also use upmix in Atmos, even with other non-Atmos media. I am using a Yamaha rx-v683 receiver. These speakers are mounted on my two front speakers. I would say the only thing I don't like about them is the lack of banana plug support. It connects to terminals with bare wire, like cheaper systems that don't require large copper wires. I haven't tested the audio range with them, but without ceiling speakers, I don't expect the sound to bounce off the ceiling across the full bandwidth. The low and low-mids still come mostly from the other speakers, and the Atmos speakers only add to the background ambience, which is usually more noticeable when the tones are higher pitched and very loud. I also wish it had adjustable tilt legs so I can adjust the angle of the speakers to the ceiling.
