Firstly I love Hue products and even had to upgrade to 2 bridges. For the most part, it works great and has a long range. A screw secures the bracket to your home and then you hang the sensor on the bracket. It seems pretty safe. I installed it at 8ft 2in to maximize coverage. When I first got the motion sensor, the light sensor didn't work from dusk to dark and kept the light on even in broad daylight. It was on firmware version 6.1.0.25261. However, a firmware update came in and now the sensors are working great! I have a spotlight on outside. It's very nice with the Apple Home Kit because it also buzzes on my Apple Watch and it also gives you a temperature sensor which is a nice added bonus and appears to be accurate (without hard testing). Very happy with this Philips sensor now that they have updated the firmware and the ambient light sensor is working properly.
