Glossy marble finish and definitely waterproof. My only issue is the paper isn't as sticky as I would hope - I've used it on the wall in front of my oven which would be an idea for easy cleaning and long term use - unfortunately the paper rises before it does wanted to stick to the wall. I have also used this paper on the surface of plywood and it adheres beautifully. When used on cardboard it is somewhat sticky and stands out from the surface. Tip: Peel off the paper to reveal part of the stick as you unfold, slowly peeling off and smoothing out the areas you lay down. If you need to quickly stick and tear off and stick again, it won't hold like the first contact with the surface.
