I use this item on my 24ft sailboat. As long as it works reliably. However, what really disappointed me is the refresh rate of the current speed. My phone app, which also uses the GPS signal, is much more responsive and constantly updates the speed while updating about every 10 seconds. I expected the GPS speedometer to work just as well as the phone app. Reading in light conditions below 2 knots does not work either. It constantly jumps between 0 and 2 knots as the phone keeps updating. I would think that showing the current speed is the nature of the speedometer. Only 2 stars for my phone makes for a more accurate reading.
