Shipping was fast even though I chose free shipping. It was half the price of something similar at the local store. It took me 2 hours to assemble but will be much quicker next time. Most screws look the same, but sort them by length as some are shorter for specific areas. The instructions on the pictures were good but pay close attention to the part numbers and those two shorter screws. You have to use your finger to find the hole in the fabric. I found it helpful to stick a thin Phillips screwdriver or El in the hole to line it up with the screw receiver. The numbers are also in the details. The cover is soft and attractive but not stuffed. The two beds connect and are well padded, but the 12-inch measurements include the outside of the beds, not the inside. While the spindles are cardboard tubes, the ends are thick plastic with well-made metal screw bushings. You can tighten the screws very tight without any problems. The wood is high density MDF, very hard, flat, with slightly rounded edges and corners. There is a raised edge under the base to keep the scratching post from wobbling at all. The walls of the two houses are not solid, but only covered with fabric. The floor and roof of the house are made of heavy-duty MDF, supported by smaller pillars that bolt on. The whole scratching post is very durable, my 8 kittens started climbing on it straight away. Would buy again.
