Suede looks good quality after soaking according to instructions. I was expecting a slight fishy smell; I didn't find it that strong or repulsive. The problem with this suede is that there are about eight indentations about five inches from the outside edges of the leather, which I assume were formed during the harvesting process. After the suede was soaked and the water squeezed out, the notches turned into 2-inch slits. I have to trim this suede down to the slits so the slits don't widen in a compromising way. Of course I can use a few smaller pieces of suede, but the suede is best put together skillfully without being damaged.
