Not As Advertised Good For Car Radio

I know there have been quality control issues based on multiple reviews. What I haven't read in any review is how it really was. Project Background: The application I needed this for was because I have a headphone splitter that goes from my MP3 player to my stereo and another cable that goes to the music controlled LEDs. The problem with the LED music controller is that it is sensitive to the volume of the MP3 player. Therefore, when your MP3 player is turned on at full power, the LEDs will no longer respond to bass. This prompted me to look for a headphone amp in hopes that it would boost the sound coming into the stereo while still keeping the LEDs working properly. Since it will be connected to the network at all times, I don't see the bad reviews about "Keep on Charge" as a downside. Results: This thing doesn't increase anything at all. I've tried multiple devices, jacks, and headphones/stereo. It should be labeled "Individual Volume Control" instead of its current name. Because it's not portable (mine doesn't work without a network connection) and doesn't increase the volume AT ALL. The only thing that's changed is the bass boost, which you might notice. This product would have gotten one star if I hadn't found another way to wire it up to make it work the way I wanted it to. Instead of the connection method above, I simply moved the connector from the stereo to the LED music controller. This allowed me to individually turn down the volume of that particular headphone channel while maintaining the MP3 player's maximum volume for the stereo connection. Summary: Not portable - must always be plugged in: This has been mentioned in many other reviews and it still rings true. DOES NOT increase the volume - only the maximum volume of the device is played. You can only lower the volume separately from a splitter. (Imagine one person wants to hear it at full power and another just wants to hear it at 50%, obviously this would be the best app if you don't need to be portable). bass boost. This option will give you more hits. BUYER BEWARE. It's not the best headphone amplification item and I would recommend almost any other product as it's not portable and doesn't boost volume AT ALL.
