We really like this gate that we use to keep our dogs from falling. This is a common path, so we use it A LOT. So far no complaints, nothing broken. The only thing I could foresee that would ever break was the spring-loaded elevator mechanism that pulls the gate back. It doesn't feel super premium, but it didn't break, so I won't judge until it does. The goal as a whole was really impressive and made our lives MUCH easier. I can't imagine how pissed I would be if we used a traditional baby gate. If your 50+ pound dog tends to jump or paw at gates I would look for something more stable - luckily we don't have that problem and ours are afraid of gates lol.
