Helps keep colostomy dry while showering

I was looking for a way to keep my colostomy dry while showering. After some testing I found that the combination of Nexcare Sensitive Skin Tape (1 inch) and 3M Micropore Paper Tape (2 inches wide) is the best solution. The hospital staff showed me how to use 3M Micropore paper tape (2" wide) to tape a plastic bag to a colostomy device/bag. However, 3M tape absorbs water, so it was difficult to prevent the instrument flange from getting wet. When I tried Nexcare Sensitive Skin Tape for sealing bags, I also had trouble keeping the device flange dry. The Nexcare tape is waterproof but stiffer and sometimes breaks off the skin in various places. Now I first seal the device with a plastic bag with Nexcare Sensitive Skin Tape. Then I seal the 1" Nexcare Tape with the wider 2" 3M Micropore Tape so that the 3M Tape completely covers the Nexcare Tape. I get Nexcare Tape waterproof protection with 3M Micropore Tape that keeps the Nexcare Tape in place so it doesn't come loose when I lean or turn in the shower.
